Covid-19 took us all off-guard, and with it has come enormous changes in our lives and how we live.
If you are anything like us, you’ll be every bit as excited to get your hair done, get back out there and dine, and to wear something other than sweats! And while these acts of normality do add value to our lives, they remain secondary to the most important thing - our health.
Your health and the health of our team is our top priority. We don’t want coming to Zoom to bring feelings of distress, discomfort, or fear for any of our clients or our staff.
We’ve put a lot of thought and care into reopening on June the 1st, 2020, and are doing everything in our power to make that visit special and to alleviate the stresses you may be feeling. We're looking forward to your service!
We apologize in advance for how intrusive these new protocols might sound. These regulations have been provided to us by Work Safe BC and the provincial health authorities and are necessary for the safety of our clients and staff and must be strictly enforced.
Here’s how things are going to be different to keep you, our staff, and our business safe during this new normal.
REDUCED CAPACITY
In keeping with the new salon safety guidelines, we’ll only be able to accommodate about 50% of the number of clients we used to see in a day/week, which means you'll get your stylist to yourself
We will be rescheduling our clients the way we believe is most fair and efficient—first offering appointments to those who had theirs cancelled as a result of COVID-19 and then working through our waitlist (want to join the waitlist? Email hello@zoomhairstudio.com
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
To be added to our waitlist, email hello@zoomhairstudio.com
If you or anyone in your household or immediate cluster has experienced any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 within the last two weeks, including;
coughing, shortness of breath, sore throat, or have had any fevers, body aches, or chills, PLEASE be honest, transparent and RESCHEDULE your appointment.
We need to keep our community safe!
UPON ARRIVAL
A mask is REQUIRED. Please bring your own, clean mask. If you are getting a colour, please keep in mind that colour will get on your mask.
Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
When you arrive, ring the bell and wait outside till one of us will open the door for you. Our staff will come and meet you when we are ready for your appointment.
Upon entry into the salon, clients will be expected to wash their hands or use the hand sanitizer provided.
We can not help you with your coat, which is going to feel strange and impolite. We cannot shake hands or hug, which is the hardest thing!!! We can air hug, though!
To minimize contact please only bring essentials with you (keys, wallet)
We will not be able to talk with you as much as we'd like to. Our masks will get damp, and we must avoid "talking moistly."
Please let us know if you have been colouring your hair at home, as we may need additional time to correct your hair safely! Colour correction may be charged at a higher rate if it requires additional time and/or product.
CLEANING / SOCIAL DISTANCING
Our salon team is dedicated to yours (and ours) health and safety. We are trained in the correct sanitation and disinfection protocols mandated by Health Canada. We are certified in the safe use of Barbicide and PreEmpt (Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide) and are also a Beauty Safe Salon.
We are required to thoroughly disinfect our entire workspace between each client, as governed by the new regulations.
We will be using every other cutting station and only 2 chairs in our colour area.
We will be using a new clean cape for each client.
As always, new freshly laundered towels will be used for each client.
We will have a maximum of 10 people at one time (including 3 stylists and one reception staff) in our 1000 sq ft salon.
We have 4 hand sanitizer stations in the salon. (at the entrance, in the colour area, in the bathroom and at each station )
While we do have tap payment for debit and credit, we will be disinfecting our Clover POS machine after each use.
There will be no in-salon waiting area during this time, all waiting must be done outside the salon.
Unless you are accompanying a minor who is also having a hair appointment, please come alone.
We have had to reduce all touchpoints so we will not have candies or magazines. Feel free to bring your own reading materials!
If any of our team members are sick or displaying any symptoms of COVID 19 they will not come into work and will reschedule their appointments.
PRICES
The Salon prices have been increased by 20% due to our unexpected loss of daily volume, cost of cleaning supplies, disposable capes, PPE, proper PPE disposal and/or extra colour required to touch-up extended regrowth.
If you have concerns about cost, please discuss options with your stylist. They are there to support you in any way they can!
NO SHOWS / LATE ATTENDEES
There will be NO penalty for rescheduling your appointment if you are sick.
If you NO SHOW for an appointment (without notice), you will be expected to pay for your service in full, or we will be unable to reschedule you for the foreseeable future.
We will do our very best to be on time, please do your best to be on time too.
If you are late, we may not be able to accommodate your appointment.
If you show up for your appointment displaying any flue like signs we will have to refuse service and charge you for your appointment.
We realize this does not sound like the salon experience you are used to, but rest assured we will do our best to provide you with the best service possible.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you!
